Overnight Accommodations

We offer comfortable, lakeside overnight accommodations here at our base. Each cabin or dorm room is assigned to one party only. Our dorms served by our two central private  restrooms/shower house facilities; cabins have their own private restroom and shower. You will have use of our swimming area and canoes the evening before your trip ... or maybe even get in a little fishing practice. To speed our overnight guests on to the canoe trails, we include a full, hot continental breakfast buffet with our compliments the morning your trip begins.  For those parties wishing to repeat our continental breakfast the morning of their departure for home, it is available at a nominal service charge.

Motor Launch Towboat Service

Hours of paddling can be cut from the start and end of your trip by using our fast tow boat services. "Saving" up to a half day each way can give you more time for traveling the remote lakes. Towboat service is available from our White Iron Lake Base, as well as on Moose Lake.

Float Plane Services

A float plane fly-in, by nature, can get you into less traveled areas of Canada's Quetico Park (there are no fly-in locations to the BWCA). For instance, the Quetico - La Croix Ranger Station (fly-in) has about one-third the number of paddlers starting there as does the Quetico - Prairie Portage Ranger Station (paddle-in). You can choose from a short 5-day trip with only two camps, to a full 10 to 12- day trip taking you deep into the heart of Quetico Park. About one third of our parties opt for flying-out; the others are picked up at a remote landing on the U.S.-side for a van ride back to our base.

Van Services

For BWCA entries which cannot be reached by tow boat, we offer van service to/from all points we service. Motor launch and land transportation is included with our Complete GOLD and SILVER Packages.  PARTIAL Outfitting customers are charged on a "per trip" basis (versus "per person"). We also offer van service to Ely's Municipal Airport to meet commercial or private flights.

Guide Service

While guides are not required for even first time novice canoeists, they can add a lot of pleasure (and prime fishing) to your trip. The guides we use are all independently contracted, versus on staff. This allows us to pick and choose guides for each party's needs. Also, independents need to prove themselves each time they work from us if they expect to be called back. Rates run from $175-$250 per day (includes his outfitting and food). It is important to reserve as early as possible; the best guides are booked months in advance!
